Utah’s newest world-class ski resort, the Mayflower Mountain Resort will be located on the backside of Deer Valley Ski Resort overlooking the picturesque Jordanelle Reservoir. This new destination is making a huge impact and here is everything you need to know about the new Mayflower Mountain Ski Resort. The Mayflower Mountain resort will be the first new ski resort built in North America since 1981. The resort will cover over 4,300 skiable acres (twice the size of Deer Valley). Phase one will have eight ski lifts, but the whole ski project will eventually offer fifteen ski lifts and one gondola providing access to some of the most sought after skiing in the world. The Mayflower Developer, Extell, and Deer Valley Ski Resort are still negotiating whether Deer Valley will manage the new ski resort.

The new world-class ski resort will have a mix of luxury estate lots, single-family homes, townhomes, condominiums, and condominium hotels sprinkled throughout the mountain side and at the village base along with three five-star hotels with available conference spaces. The first developments have been released and are currently available for reservation but filling up faster than expected. The Marcella Ski & Golf community properties are now available for purchase, offering premier ski-in-ski-out lots in a gated community. The Velvaere community is unique to Utah, this community is centered around wellness and health while offering ski-in-ski-out properties. Velvaere will have luxury homes, cabins, and townhomes with state-of-the-art wellness features to awaken the body and soul.

The Military Made The Mayflower Ski Resort Possible

The reason why the Mayflower Mountain Resort can happen is because of the Military Installation Development Authority (MIDA) which was created in 2007 to aid in the development of military land in Utah. The purpose of the MIDA project is to provide the military with a “morale, welfare and recreation” hotel in a ski resort setting. This will be the only MIDA facility located at a ski resort in the United States and is an incredible tribute to the men and women who have served in our armed forces. The MIDA hotel tips its hat to those who have served and is expected to be a Grand Hyatt hotel.

At the heart of the Mayflower Mountain Resort will be a community village designed bring residents and visitors together. At the village you can enjoy a large ski beach, outdoor amphitheater, children's center, ice skating ribbon, recreation center featuring a fitness center, pool, tennis and basketball courts, retail shops and restaurants.  There are more amenities being discussed, but have not been finalized. These amenities include an alpine coaster, Nordic skiing tracks, sledding hills, mountain bike pump track, skate park, a mini golf course and zip-line tours across the mountain.

You Should Know The Mayflower Resort In Park City Will Include A Tiger Woods Designed Golf Course

The Marcella Club was excited to announce their partnership with Tiger Woods and his golf course design firm, TGR, to create their first mountainside golf course design. This 18-hole professional course will be over 8,000 yards making it the longest golf course in Utah. This course will only be open to members of the Marcella Club.

Access Is Key At The Mayflower Ski Resort In Park City 

The new ski resort will have quick access to the slopes along Highway 40 so the traffic will bypass Park City to help eliminate the longer drives to Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons Ski Resort and Deer valley Ski Resort. It’s a quick 40-minute drive from the Salt Lake International Airport and a 20-minute drive from the private airport in Heber.
